You have rallied your family, friends and co-workers, written your letters, and collected donations….all with unwavering gusto and 100% support for our cause, to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. You are TRUE BLUE!
JDRF’s signature color is royal blue (the truest shade of blue). Blue is also the official color of diabetes as established by The International Diabetes Federation. The blue circle is the universal symbol for diabetes and aims to give diabetes a common identity.
We are asking all participants and volunteers to express our solidarity by going blue on Walk Day. Imagine a sea of blue crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, assembled together on Crissy Field, or walking through Heather Farm Park.
As you are getting ready for the Walk, think blue by adding blue layers to your clothing and pulling blue accessories out of your closet. How about a blue hat or scarf? Or even a blue wig or boa! Be creative and think BLUE!
We are very excited about this! So, to help you go blue, we will have a TRUE BLUE tent where you check-in for the Walk. We will provide blue hair spray, JDRF blue bracelets, temporary tattoos and other fun ways to go blue. Have fun and show your spirit! Remember, you are TRUE BLUE.
Note: The TRUE BLUE tents will only be available at the East Bay and San Francisco Walk sites. We encourage our friends at the Monterey Bay Walk to ‘Say BOO! to Diabetes’ and wear your Halloween costumes at the Walk site in Pacific Grove.
